Can't cut down a bush with a stone knife or pick up my roadflare, also it's dark as hell!!

They seem to have made nights brighter in the upcoming 1.05 patch.
Was your stone knife ruined? Also,sometimes with bushes, you have to adjust your position several times, to find the sweet spot.
Console is currently experiencing issues with inventory. Often a quick relog fixes this (make sure you go back in the same server, otherwise, you’ll be moved far away).
Disconnection is a common issue in 1.04, too. Will hopefully be resolved in 1.05.
One final thing to consider is that when a server crashes, your character cannot usually interact with anything. If you were trying to perform actions just before the disconnection, this could be why you struggled or do anything.
