People can duplicate objects by duplicating for example a backpack with the items you want to duplicate inside.
To do this you need 2 players, this bug can be done in the ground inventory or in the vehicle inventory.

Steps To Reproduce
1 - Prepare the backpack to duplicate by putting inside the backpack the items to duplicate and drop it on the ground (OR put it in the vehicle inventory).
2 - The two players has to pick the backpack at the same time (IT MUST BE THE SAME).
3 - The backpack will start glitching and teleporting on the back of the two player and on the ground (if the backpack was on the ground).
4 - One of the two player has to disconnect.
5 - When he join back there will be two backpack with the items inside.
6 - Done you got 2 backpacks with the items you put at the start.
Additional Information
This bug is probably caused by how the pickup works, in other games to prevent this they made that when you pick something it send a message to the server to check what you picked is fine and correct
