1.) Fill Jerry Can with water
2.) Hold empty Canteen/Water Bottle in your hand
3.) Drag the Jerry Can over the Item in your hands, fill option does not appear.

Placing the Jerry Can on the ground and interacting does not have an affect either, nor does holding the Jerry Can and draging the container to it or any combination of placing the items on the ground and trying the action key.
