When a player fires a weapon the lighting effect stays tied to their model, the lighting effect is actually rendering or appearing below the weapon. This makes the player visible from whatever the rendering range is on lighting effects, as you can see in the video when i fly away with the free cam.
I tested this with every weapon in the current 1.0 build and could recreate it every time.
I've attached/linked an unlisted YT video of it so you can see. You can see the light orb rendering in from below the weapon when its fired, and when i free cam away the light effect stay tied to my character.
