Good evening,
before the DayZ beta was released I was still playing DayZ on the experimental branch and it was running just fine. After Steam downloaded the first Beta update DayZ won't start, it keeps crashing right at the application's start. Any further beta updates released since then didn't change the problem.
I basically start DayZ, it doesn't depend if I start it from my library within Steam or if I double click the shortcut on my desktop. DayZ tries to start, the screen turns black, just as if it wants to load the game and display the DayZ-loading-logo as usual. But it doesn't show the logo, instead I get a typical windows error popup window with the german text:
DayZ: DayZ_x64.exe - Fehler in Anwendung
Die Anweisung in 0xe39e4630 verweist auf Speicher 0xe39e4630.Der Vorgang written konnte nicht im Speicher durchgeführt werden.
Klicken Sie auf "OK", um das Programm zu beenden.
This roughly translates to:
DayZ. DayZ_x64.exe - error in application
The order in 0xe39e4630 refers to memory 0xe39e4630. The process written could not be executed in the memory.
Click on "OK" to terminate the program.
Funny thing, each time I try to start the game, the numbers change. For example I already had 0xcc044630, 0xee504630 and 0xf14b4630.
What did I try to solve the problem so far:
- First thing I set Steam > DayZ > properties Beta > Experimental to NONE. Didn't work.
- I reinstalled the game. Didn't work
- Someone on Facebook suggested to update my Windows since this fixed the issue on his PC (he had the same issue). Coincidentially the night after my PC downloaded and installed the current Windows update automatically. Didn't work, game keeps crashing on launch.
- Someone else on Facebook told me to run DayZ as administrator, as the devs told him to do to fix the same issue. Didn't work.
- I updated my Nvidia graphics card driver to "GeForce Game Ready Driver Version 416.94, release date 11/13/2018. Didn't work
(by the way my GeForce GTX 660 Ti was capable of running DayZ before since the standalone was released. The frames even increased during the last months while playing on the experimental branch)
- I right clicked DayZ > properties > local files tab > verify integrity of game files. Didn't work.
- I downloaded the DayZ legacy version (0.62) via properties > beta tab > legacy. This runs just fine, I could even join a sever.
- I re-downloaded the current beta again. Didn't work, games keeps crashing on launch again.
- Steam downloaded and installed the latest beta update. Didn't work.
- I gave up.
I'm sorry that I can't look up my exact DayZ version. But since it's displayed in the main menue and I can't get even to the main menue, that's quite not possible. But it is the current game version for Windows (today is the 1st december of 2018)
I added the DxDiag.txt from just the moment before I tried to start DayZ the last time, a 2nd DxDiag.txt from the moment after I tried to start DayZ and it crashed, and the DayZ folder from "c - users - username - appdata - local". The number that keeps changing in the error message was 0xec524630 this time.
If you need anything else, just ask me.
I hope that you can help me out. I really want to have a look at what you guys prepared for beta :-)
And by the way, keep up the great work! I still love your game!
cheers
