First of: very very good work! (There remains only one big problem for me and players like me in DayZ ... other players who prefer killing over communicating. if u find a solution for that, I will award you my personal nobel-prize ;)

Now for the nights:
Pls make the nights shorter. Dont get me wrong, the complete darkness and the nightly sounds are absolutely awesome. But in real life survival, you would mostly use the night to sleep. Of course no gamer wants to look at his character sleeping for hours and hours till the sun rises again. Especially in the early days of my characters life I now most of the time decide to go offline and let the night go past instead of turning on my head torch and continue playing. Which is a shame as the new dayz night is beautiful in her own particular way indeed. So I would suggest just having dusk and dawn times, connected by a short night period (lets say on 12x time max. 20min really dark night). That way it would be possible for players that want to do certain activities during night time, to do these but on the other hand the "normal" dayz live would not be interrupted for to long. Otherwise light sources need o become a lot stronger imo.

Most of all and apart from that, the handheld light sources NEED to switch to the left hand to enable melee combat at night! And the head torch could follow the crosshair a little better.
