Can't attach combination lock after removing

Description

What we did:

  • Attached and deattached a combination lock to a gate a couple of times (it worked like 3-4 times)
  • We were unable to unlock the combination lock so we tried all possibilities (to be honest i am not sure if we changed the lock in the meantime, old code just didn't work)
  • Unlocked it after 600 tries
  • Combination lock didn't fall to the ground but gate opened, couldn't remove lock
  • Relogged, now lock was on the ground, picked it up
  • Now we can't attach the lock anymore, tried other locks but nothing helps
  • We can still open the gate

We're having the same problem. Combi lock wouldn't take the code, we had to saw it off. Now we can;t attach a new lock . We have tried several locks but can't attach them.
