Stress test #31: Crash report interacting with inventory
New, NormalPublic

Description

I have to admit it is getting very frustrating at this point. I have tried thoroughly reinstalling the game, I updated my drivers, disabling overlays, changing settings. I get sounds from other players the game runs all nicely but still I am just flooded with inventory interaction crashes with occurences reaching all the way back to stress test #20. Its getting to a point where I am actually avoiding as many inventory actions as I possibly can. I don't get any updates on what might be going on on any of my tickets neither, which causes me to doubt the point of my submitting dozens of these simar crashes. For the time I will stop testing since I am basically going from one crash to the next at the moment not being able to do much else, I have tried to find a pattern but it just seems like a clustered poisson process at this point. Crouching, standing, having things in hand. It does not matter.

There is no easy way to see any feedback from your end on all of my posted tickets so I hereby declare this ticket to be the communication point on all my past inventory interaction crashes. I will not be able to test anything else until this matter has been resolved so I will be checking this ticket on a regular basis.

I hope I will be able to see this issue go in some way, I am looking forward to being able to test beta functionality again, if you might need some more data on this or have any suggestions, feel free to respond so that I can assist you in any way I can. In beta we trust, keep up the good work!

Steps To Reproduce
  1. Press tab ingame

(Start dragging an item in your inventory (doesn't matter to where, internally in own inventory, to hands, to floor) seems to increase the chance of a crash but it is not required.)
2.5) Pray to RNG gods

  1. Hear the annoying error sound again shortly after which there will be an error speaking of a memory write fail with two hexadecimal numbers
  2. Desktop.

The following three logs were occurences of this crash as of stress test #30 today (28-06). I have gathered three more on an older experimental version this morning that I consider to be outdated. If interested I can supply these on demand.

Stress test #31 seems to adress this issue at a first glance, I will resume testing to see if this report (and the previous ones) are still relevant.

Report is still relevant, inventory crash occurred after just opening the inventory (not moving anything around) I recognise the glitching sound before it crashes. I sat myself down in a corner of a barn, opened the inventory to open a can of spaghetti without anything in my hands and crashed with the following log:

This is beyond frustrating tbh. I don't understand why I made it to Krasnostav without any problems and as soon as I left town having maybe picked up a specific item I kept on crashing. After the barn crash I went to Gvozdno military. Opened my inventory three times. Crashes three times. First time standing up with knife in hand. Second time sitting down bottle in hand. Third time just sitting down, all within 5 minutes of eachother (including the time I take to properly document the crashes. I cannot join SWE2-1 anymore for some reason and that might be a good thing. As nobody really seems to get these errors maybe its due to my specific playing style. I cannot think of much besides the improvised pack or transceiver I always carry. Anyway, here's the logs...

Add eight more crashes to the count, 31-0704(x) is the files I will be refering to with x the number of the crash. The first was a crash without dropping either the pack or transceiver I mentioned. The second and third one were after dropping the transceiver. The fourth was having made a courier bag instead having put two cans of beans into it and a makarov. While I was in between bags the game seemed remarkably stable. So the only constant to link the crashes were either the presence of an improvised backpack/courier bag and having a makarov. As I dropped the makarov I got crashes 5 and 6. This ruled out the makarov and left just the bag as an option. I dropped the pack and went on without one after which I got crashes 7 and 8.

I have no clue anymore what it is related to, there is nothing more to be done from my end. I would ask that you please look into this, this really blocks me from testing anything while I am very involved with this process and a big fan of DayZ in general.

Also in the steps to reproduce I mentioned having to drag an item as a required step. While it feels it occurs more frequently dragging an item I also received crashes on doing nothing on the open inventory window.
