Yesterday, my computer blue-screened (first time this rig has ever done that btw) and the only things that I recall running before crash was:
- Google Chrome
- Steam,
- A3Launcher (maybe, not 100% sure),
- CCleaner (in background)
- nVidia Control Panel (in background)
- Windows File Explorer**
Computer rebooted fine, no problems until I open up Steam and see that Arma 3 is greyed-out such that Steam does not recognize it as installed. I manually check the game directory and all files are still there just fine and can even run the game just fine by double-clicking the arma3.exe.
- Side note: My OS is formatted to C: (SSD) but Steam was installed on F: (smaller SSD) as was DayZ and Arma 3. The rest of my games are installed on S: (non-SSD).
I simply tried to "Install" again via Steam hoping it would recognize that it is already installed, but Steam informed me that I did not have enough HDD space to download/install Arma3. I googled solutions to this issue and discovered it is not an uncommon one, apparently. I tried all of the solutions that I could find for the better part of 6-7 hours last night and still nothing worked. In one last attempt, I backed up each of my \Steamapps\ folder (on each drive) to new folders to be added into my Steam Library, uninstalled Steam completely, reinstalled Steam, opened it up + logged in, closed Steam back down, then opened Steam back up.
Still not showing Arma3 as installed. I even put DayZ on a different drive so I would have enough space to try and start the Arma3 download Arma3. When I first started the download, it acted like it was going to "verify" that Arma3 was already installed. Nope. Started the download at 0%!!
Right before shutting down, I noticed a new .txt file had been created on my Desktop - some kind of Arma 3 error log which I have attached. No idea what any of it means, but help!!!
Best Regards,
Seth C.
