Game Randomly Closes or Application Error Popup
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

I'm having quite a few times (3 out of 6 this evening) when the game just closes, either with an error message

"Argo: argo_x64.exe - Application Error : The instruction at 0x0000000001B55BE9 referenced memory at 0xFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF. The memory could not be read. Click on OK to terminate the program"

or it just goes back to the desktop, no error or any kind of notification. Mostly happens when I'm doing well in a game, lol.

My system is Strix Z270I, I5-7600K (no overclock), 16Gb ram, GTX 1080Ti 11Gb, WD 512Gb SSD.

Dump files and DXDiag attached.

Hello daveymg. Thanks for your feedback. Our programmers take a look into. Does that happen to you only in Combat Patrol or it doesn´t matter which scenario you play?
Is this problem new for you or it is already known and happened before some past update?
For now I recommend you to verify game data via Steam and hopes that it make it better.

I'm pretty sure I've had the error in other scenarios.

Playing combat just now I've had one error popup, one return to desktop and one kicked from game. The server was Oceania so the ping was around 94. I'll run the verify and see if that makes a difference.

The verify ran OK. The next game just returned to the desktop though. I though it might be that I've added a third screen but I've just played with only one screen connected and got dumped back to the desktop again.

As a data point, I've been playing x-plane over three screens and the graphic card gets a lot hotter than in Argo, but no crashes or other problems in x-plane.

Any suggestions as to what I could try to resolve this as the game isn't really playable now? I've had the error popup or return to desktop on most sessions. I have noticed that the games stalls or stutters slightly before it crashes.

Following up, I think the crashes have been related to drivers for my Turtlebeach PX5 headset. After switching to a standard usb headset I haven't had any further problems.

Thanks.

Good to hear. Thank you very much for the report.
