I had some friends playing today, they had the same issue, if you use bandages, drink or eat stuff quick, while having your gun in hands, so it keeps switching back from Used Item to Gun, Gun to Used Item, the gun will vanish.

Steps To Reproduce
Get some bandages, or drinks, or foods.
Put a weapon in-hands.
Eat the food, or drink the drink.
Keep eating fast while your character is doing the animation where he equips the gun back again.
The gun will eventually disappear.
