Ive had this problem for over one and a half years now.
I join a server (tried all kinds of servers), then either of the two following things happen:
- I am stuck in the first loading screen for one minute or so and get the message "You were kicked off the game"
-I make it to the Role Assignment Screen, but the faction and player section are both completely empty even though there mostly are 50+ players on the server
-I click the "OK" button on the right bottom, which is followed by a "Receiving mission file (0KB/0KB)" screen
-The message changes into "Receiving data"
-I get kicked with the message "You were kicked off the game"
The last time i had this (about 10 minutes ago) the game crashed. I will provide the crash report.
Now comes the wired part:
As already mentioned, ive had this for a long time now. Here is what I tried:
-I reinstalled the game normally
-uninstalled it again and deleted all of the related files I could find
-changed harddrive
-reinstalled my OS (wiped the complete harddrive)
-changed Antivirus (now Avira)
-Disabled firewall
-Forwarded all the ports I could find that were somehow related to the game or steam
None of this solved the problem.
Something even more stange is that when I didnt play the game for a long time and I reinstalled it, I could always join a server once, where everything worked fine. But when I tried to join it a second time (even without exiting the game inbetween), it didnt work again.
I never had any mods installed.
The singleplayer works fine.
I think I had the exact same issue with Arma 2 OA, but I didnt test that recently.
Of course I will try to provide any data or files nessessary for you and at this point I dont feel very optimistic about wether or not it will ever work. I have seen other people with a similar problem and no solution, so maybe it helps them.
When the game crashed I got the windows error message
"Die Anweisung in 0x000000000183CB05 verwies auf Arbeitsspeicher bei 0x0000000000000000. Der vorgang read konnte im Arbeitsspeicher nicht durchgeführt werden."
Which in english means about that:
"The command in 0x000000000183CB05 refered to RAM at 0x0000000000000000. The process read could not be executed in RAM."
