Description

Firstly, Jets DLC is hands down the best DLC (except APEX) that ever came to Arma 3 so far, even though it's not done yet. Good job.

Keep in mind I have only played the jets DLC on a multiplayer private server. All bugs reported are when I have NOT been using mods.

Steps To Reproduce

BUGS: Left panel stayed on the HUD after leaving the Huron, when getting out before a complete stop (happened only once); after using the catapult on the carrier the action "Detach From Catapult" will not disappear, selecting that action will do nothing and the barrier on that catapult will stay open for the entirety of the game. Used the Black Wasp II when that occurred, and catapult #2 particularly had that problem often; the carrier acts like it creates a land inside the carrier halfway between the water and the top of the carrier. Respawns will spawn an actor inside the middle of the carrier and adjusting the respawn height to the top will not help. However, adjusting the respawn to about 10-20 meters above the carrier will let the actor respawn in a parachute just above the carrier top. Vehicle respawns seem to be stable everywhere but the most aft-port jet elevator, where some explosions happened; the CWIS carrier defense weapon blows up shooting only ten times with a mere MX.

Feedback for improvement:
This is the best DLC (other than Apex) that has been released for Arma. What makes it the best DLC are the features. Bohemia, you have truly shown that functionality and deep thought is more important than lots of content.
I noticed the AI has been drastically improved both on the ground and in the air. Now AI jets won't slow to the slowest possible speed without stalling and spin in a circle. Although much better, I think if the AI controlled fighter jets would increase speed and attempt to conserve speed more often, they would become a challenge worth thinking about. In air to air, speed is key.
I already foresee public servers with a carrier being like hell with the wrong people. I recommend creating a small tow tractor like the one from Arma 2 to tow the aircraft if they got stuck. Not only would this help with the carrier, but anywhere untrained pilots do their bidding.
I'm so excited to see this carrier in it's final form. But I also worry, about the USS Nimitz remaining the better choice. My biggest recommendation, is to create as much interior for the carrier as possible! The two rooms already made look ASTONISHING, and I would buy this DLC again if I had a full interior on this ship... With working jet elevators, and an assault boat Davit. Now I know I'm starting to be one of those fans throwing out ideas left in right without taking any consideration how much work just one jet is in this DLC, or any one unit is in any DLC, but hear me out, a great carrier with an interior and many features could be a better addition to Arma than even Tanoa was.
A computer or panel to open up a targeting camera zooming very far in on a target could increase realism and CAS capability.

I think the DLC's in the past were rough, but luckily, you have learned from the community, and I can't wait to see what's coming next. Especially tanks, I love tanks, more than Jay Crowe.
