Bad image/0xC000041D - STATUS_FATAL_USER_CALLBACK_EXCEPTION
Reviewed, NormalPublic

Description

I've just bought the game. Every time I try to launch it, it crashes.

The error message says arma3_x64.exe - Bad Image Exception Processing Message 0xc000007b

I also get an "Arma 3 has exited in an unusual manner" message with 0xC000041D - STATUS_FATAL_USER_CALLBACK_EXCEPTION

EDIT - I've added more information including crashdumps. I've been waiting over a week for a reply, please help! The latest hotfix has not helped.

Hello,
did you done something with your Arma 3 files? There a lot of corrupted files in the root of the game that don't belong there and the game executable 'arma3.exe' for which you've uploaded DWI report looks like renamed 'arma3_x64.exe' judging by the files it loads.

As a first step, I'd advise you to delete all files in the Arma 3 folder (just files) and then let Steam to re-download them: https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=2037-QEUH-3335

Hi, thanks very much for replying! AFAIK I haven't done anything with my Arma 3 files and don't know why the exe has been renamed. I've already tried uninstalling using Steam and reinstalling, with no effect. I suppose I'll do it again and make sure absolutely everything is deleted before re-downloading.

Hmm, after uninstalling using Steam a bunch of dlls and other files were still left. I've deleted them and started redownloading from scratch.

Problem mostly fixed now, although still getting occasional error messages and crashes. Thanks!
