Arma 3 launcher doesn´t open (an exception ocurred)
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

My launcher doesn´t open anymore. I´ve already tried to open in safe mode and re-install the vcredist, but none of them worked.

This problem already happened in the last updates. I solved deleting the launcher folder in the arma 3 main folder and checking the integrity files on steam, but this time the error continues.

Please, help me. This .txt is the log that the laucher has provided

Hello,
according to the log Launcher can't access the file C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Arma 3\Launcher\log4net.dll.
Could you please check that the file is accessible (e.g. can be moved to desktop and back)? Also could you please try to remove the file, restart the computer, verify the integrity of the game cache and run Launcher again?

BISWizard changed the task status from New to Assigned.

Ok, i did all this procedures but the launcher is still not opening.

The print below show my launcher folder.

When i try to launch it, the following error appears:

Translation of the image: it´s not been possible to initiate the launcher. The launcher will be closed. Reason: [-101] Unknown

@GarciaK, could you please get and upload Launcher logs: http://arma.jiripolasek.com/howtos.html ?

@GarciaK could you please run Launcher from here to see it that works: arma.jiripolasek.com/files/Launcher_140900.zip ?

Yes, the launcher opened without problems.

Well, that is the exactly the same Launcher that are be currently on in the Steam distribution. You can use the files from the archive to overwrite the files in Arma installation.

Also I'd like to ask you to if you'd be so kind and before you overwrite those files, could you backup them and upload them for me together with you Steam logs (C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\logs)? I'm going to raise this with engineers in Valve.

Of course, no problem. Is this what you need?

Thank you very much. That is exactly what I need.

You are welcome. Thank you for the support!
