I've tried searching the internet and found no solution to this error, which is activated upon pressing play on the launcher:

"The exception unknown software exception ([location]) occurred in the application at location [location]"

To be specific, I got:

"The exception unknown software exception (0xc06d007e) occurred in the application at location 0x17468d8"

This affects both the 64-bit and the 32-bit versions, yet location vary. Even launching it in Vanilla does not work as well. I've read that there is no solution to this bug and hope that the devs fix it, but a workaround is appreciated. I'm using a Asus laptop, and already customized the 64-bit client to use the Nvidia video card.
