3 FPS Bug Crash Logs
Reviewed, NormalPublic

Description

100% of my community (5 members) is affected by the 3 FPS memory crash. No specific action or event seems to trigger the crashes.

Operating System

Operating System Version
Service Pack 1, 64 bit
Category
Game Crash
Steps To Reproduce

Play the game.

Every game type, every map, every mission type, the game will crash between 20 minutes and 2 hours in with a memory error (screen cap included). Vanilla unmoded buys us more time, mods seems to reduce play time by 25%.

Additional Information

We switched to the 64 bit client on the dev branch to try and fix the memory errors but continue to receive them.

We are active and friendly, and will provide any additional requested information as expediently as possible. Thank you kindly in advance for your time,

The {DBH} community.

Hi,

First, unload all these parameters

-exThreads=7 -enableHT -malloc=system -hugePages -maxmem=15900

-maxmem=15900 parameter doesn´t exist, maximum is 8192

I strongly don´t recommend you to let just 100MB of memory to your OS and try to different memory allocator. Default Windows alloc is very weak.

Second, unload all your mods and try to get them back to one-by-one. Also, you are using many mods that are very hard to your video memory. If there are some useless, I recommend to unload.

Thank you kindly for your swift response.

I have changed the -maxmem parameter to your suggested 8192. The attached screenshot shows a larger maximum value of 16262. When I monitor my ARMA 3 ram usage, it never climbs above 3800 MBs.

The previously attached crash logs are under the system malloc, and TBB 4 allocator.

We will play test your other suggestions rigorously in the upcoming week and post any additional results.

Still crashing with the attached report.

Crash is still persisting because:

-exThreads=7 -enableHT -malloc=system -hugePages -maxmem=15900 -filePatching

and many many mods.....

Yes of course, the 15,9 GB video memory limit can be set to play Arma 3 but the Win won´t have enought memory to run basic functions and crash your game. Also, parameters -exThreads=7 -enableHT are useless. They can improve your performance, sure, but their combination with 15,9 GB -maxvmem is deadly elixir.

I strongly recommend you to unload all these parameters and some mods too (i.e. @3den Enhanced, @Advanced Rappelling, @Advanced Urban Rappelling, @Advanced Sling Loading, @Advanced Towing, @Arma Enhanced Movement)

All mods what I named are improvements which harm your memory very strong. Combination with @CBA_A3 and some others caused quick video memory filling. Keep attention about mod combination, their size and so one. Arma 3 vanilla spends around 4-6 GB video memory.

If you can, try switch to profiling branch that rapidly improve game performance or try 64bit DEV branch.

profiling game branch. After downloading new data verify the integrity of the game cache.

• profiling branch (special performance + profiling build - requires access code: CautionSpecialProfilingAndTestingBranchArma3), alternative download of needed binary possible from Dwarden's dropbox
