I built a custom map in terrain builder and compiled the pbo file with no problems. Started arma 3 laucher and loaded the mod and started the game. Clicked on editor and clicked my map which had preview image and all correct. It loaded the map to about 90% on the bar then crashed.

Hi,
There could be some fault during exporting your .pbo so try it export once again. Creating a new folder in your Arma root called SP (or MP) mission can be useful. Also, would be helpful create file tempMissionSP.*name of terrain* or tempMissionMP.*name of terrain* here C:\Users\*username*\Documents\Arma 3 - Other Profiles\Alwin\Missions
The game could not retrieve your .pbo because was placed incorrectly or just wrong exported.
