Can not launch Arma3 at all now, insta crashes after B.E. loads up
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

0xC0000374 - STATUS_HEAP_CORRUPTION

Client crashes instantly right after BattleEye loads up and says the client is now being loaded. Splash screen for loading does not appear at all.

I've tried everything at this point. Despite the error logs say, I am running this 'currently' with no mods, no params, no nothing but the stock game (and 2x verified steam game cache) I can not for the life of me figure out what is going on now just out of the blue for it to be doing this. I had params set earlier but I decided to remove them and now my game will not launch at all.... I've even gone as far as deleting my shader cache to eliminate any chance of corruption in there as well.

Also tried clearing the one launcher folder as well that handles settings/config as found on the forums did not resolve the problem either.

It is definitely a launcher issue at hand. Running Arma3Battleye directly will launch Arma3 and get the game up and running without issue. Ive Googled for similar issues as mine and already have tried disabling HW acceleration and deleting the prefs folder in %appdata/local/bohemia......

Hi,

even, when you unload -world=empty parameter the Launche crashes?
Try to delete your profile folder (create a backup) a try to start the game.

The file yourprofilename.vars.Arma3Profile must be deleted.
Path: C:\Users\*username*\Documents\Arma 3

also, you can try this hotfix

Right now Im trying to launch with no params at all, also tried it with -world=empty no luck.

Removed C:\Users\sycholic\AppData\Local\Bohemia_Interactive\arma3launcher.exe_Url_..... folder (same thing as the 'hotfix') and
removed C:\Users\sycholic\Documents\Arma 3 folder
Removed and reinstalled all C++ and .net and DirectX.
Have completely uninstalled and reinstalled arma3.
Ran sfc /scannow
......

Nothing changed, game insta crashes when the launcher runs Battleye and then Battleye says launching game. But if I directly, while logged into steam, run Battleye.exe the game will run without a issue.

I can not find anything pointing to any error or logging of any error that might provide insight as to what the problem is. the crash report that Arma3 generates does not provide any kind of info far as I can tell as to the problem.

I really do not want to have to scrub my HD and totally remove everything arma3/bohemia related as that is like cutting cancer out and not eliminating/finding the cause.

At this point I would be happy with just a complete list of locations where files are placed as clearly just looking at the normal uninstall it sure doesnt scrub anything but the steam folder. As I can not find any reason why the launcher is the only thing having the issue launching BE then Arma

We´ve investigated your call stacks and Buldozer was launched and \A3\ui_f_curator\UI\defineResinclDesign.inc file could not be found, that's where it crashed.

I recommend you to check/re-download your game data files.

I am not attempting to run buldozer, why would it be saying that? I am just trying to launch the game normally nothing special...
but I already have uninstalled and reinstalled the game and that was after verifying the game cache failed to solve it as well...

The only way my game runs correctly is having arma3launcher.exe, arma3battleye.exe, and arma3.exe running with compatibility settings. that is not a proper solution but it does solve the issue... issue could be considered closed but again its not a sane/proper solution.
