Hi,
Right now the situation is that you have to drag each stack op the same item separately to its own hotbar slot.
It would seem logical that you'd only have to drag on item/item stack to the hotbar slot to be able to select all items of that kind at the same time.
For example, If I make 3 stacks of arrow each 5 and I drag one stack to the hotbar I have to re-drag the next stack to the hotbar as soon as I'm out of the first stack. Imo it would be better for gameplay if these items can be selected as a whole.

Steps To Reproduce
Create 2 stacks of (for example) rags
Drag stack 1 to hotbar slot
Select hotbar slot
You will see that as soon as stack 1 is out the hotbar slot will be empty even though there are still rags in your inventory.
