@DJPorterNZ, try all of the possible solutions listed for 0xC0000005 - ACCESS_VIOLATION on the Arma 3 Unusual process exit article on the Bohemia Interactive Community Wiki.

If the issue persists after trying the above possible solutions then use the Arma 3 Launcher to prepare a new troubleshooting report and then upload the report to the feedback tracker for the developers to review.

Hello,

what you can try at first are the most common solutions mentioned by Jawsh. If problem still occurs you might to verify your game cache integrity via Steam.

Second, in some cases useful solution is change your game profile to another (you can create a new one for testing)

Third, you can reinstall Arma 3 either or try All in One Runtimes tool that should repair your Visual C++, Java SE, Adobe Flash Player, Adobe Shockwave Player, Silverlight, DirectX and so one.
Tool had been useful for some similar issues.

I hope this will works for you.

Just a quick update. Tried all of the fixes suggested in Jawsh's post and a few other. Reinstalled Steam & ArmA and used a new Profile. Updated all the C(++) runtimes, Java, and all the other listed runtimes. Reinstalled GPU drivers (nVidia) and tried rolling back, etc.

Disconnected all my HDDs from my system, installed a new unused HDD and installed Win10, Steam and ArmA plus all the required runtimes that are required by ArmA.

UPDATE: Exporting the mission includes both files but crashes on init. I'm thinking it is a problem with the files in the example directory at this point as even just exporting the unedited mission causes the fault. Might just need to wait...
Unfortunately the problem persists. Have tested on the x32 client and it's happening there too, so can't be directly related to the x64 change...

If it helps (and yes I should probably have mentioned it in the OP) the crash only happens when trying to run a modified (i.e. player Zeus synced to Team Leader) in the Combat Patrol mission as adapted from the files given in the A3 Samples download through Steam.

The Combat Patrol mission works flawlessly if it is selected from the Host Server functionality in the client (both x32/x64), but not when testing through the Eden editor. Could it be not reading the Description.ext file?? I'll try exporting the missin and see if that fixes anything.

Hello,

Can I ask you about new crash repost and you can export us the mission? And sorry for asking. Did you try verify game cache integrity. I don´t see this option mentioned here so that way I asking.

Thank you.
