Environment - Star field
New, NormalPublic

Description

With the introduction of 0.60 and continuing into 0.61 the texture for the night sky has changed from a discernible night sky where one can use constellations to navigate to what appears to be a zoomed in, pixelated squares for stars.

Additional Information

The identification of constellations (Big Dipper, Orions Belt, The seven Sisters) were easily recognisable in earlier versions of Dayz pre 0.60. With the switch to the new renderer the star field has become pixelated and stars are represented by a series of pixels in a square pattern. The stars themselves are pretty uniform with only slight changes in size making the identification of the constellations essentially impossible.

Hopefully this will be addressed.

See the attached screen shot.

Some additional information:

I have noticed that at dusk or dawn the Stars appear smaller and the differences in size are more readily observable allowing for the identification of constellations (Big Dipper, Little Dipper, Orions Belt, etc) however as the night progresses and the stars shift up into the night sky their size enlarge and become more uniform in appearance (ie pixelated squares), similar in appears to the above screen shot.

I will try to take a couple of screen shot as examples.

Here are a couple of screen shots that demonstrate this issue

The first is a shot at dusk. In the low horizon the Big Dipper is clearly visible.

Once the night progresses the stars size become essentially uniform masking the constellations

The seven sisters are visible in the last image upper left of centre.

Not a priority by any means but a nice feature for sure. Overall the night sky could be darker and on clear nights a bit of the milkyway visible would be cool.

Keep up the good work!
