- Are your video card drivers up-to-date?
- Could you try again using different memory allocators? See Arma 3 Startup Parameters → Performance:
-malloc=<string> Sets the particular memory allocator to be used. Significantly affects both performance and stability of the game. More details.
- Are you able to run other games without issue?
My video card is up to date (I'm using Iobit Driver updater)
Besides I installed directX from redistro folders from arma directory just in case.
directX ver: 9.29.952.31111
Shows in driver booster as up to date.
For a good measure I'm running amd installer.See if that changes situation.
I will try allocators
Windows
TBB 3
Default
Jemaloc
Nedmaloc
TCmaloc
Nothing helped
Yes other games work as intended (Reign of kings, LoL, Stronghold:Legends...)
Updating drivers did not resolve my issue.Note that everything worked prior
update.
Correct.Prior update game worked as intended. Is there older branch that I can go back
to verify that if you need to?

@en3x, yes, you can use the legacy build.
From SPOTREP #00059:
A Legacy Build Steam branch is available for advanced users. It contains the previous significant main branch version (1.62). It can be used to compare specific changes between major releases. The access code for this branch is: Arma3Legacy162
Thanks.
I have verified and 1.62 works perfectly.
Latest stable however freezes game in main menu.
Problem still persist.
I'm unable to play game that I own, (Put about +60€ for it and all of it dlc)
Any update. Is it even on to do log?It is a blocker its suppose to be on the list right?
I get it that latest update did not work.
Are you able to run a Development branch? Also have you tried a profiling branch?

Additionally I would recommend trying to update your drivers manually by using drivers provided on official pages of your graphics card manufacturer.
Could you also provide recent troubleshooting reports?
Both under latest ATI drivers from autodetecutility from ATI radeon website.
Latest dev branch Launcher version: 1.5.138928
Game version: 1.65.138923
Branch: development
Freezes in main menu
Profiling branch
Launcher version: 1.5.138680
Game version: 1.64.138944
Branch: profiling
Freezes in main menu
Project Argo works.
Obviously there are key differences but main menu did not freeze.
Can we please solve this issue?
It still persists on stable branch.
Are you by any chance using AVG, or BitDefender antivirus software?
Some reports came in lately with information about crashes on startup and that they were able to run the game if they disabled their AV (again AVG and BitDefender though other AVs might still be in play) protection temporarily (perhaps enabling an exception in the AV for Arma 3 and BattlEye might work).
So without the BitDefender AV you are able to run and play the game.
Do you by any chance know if BitDefender had problem with any particular files?
Nothing pop out and blocked particular access.
Should be noted that BitDefender and Arma worked well along before the stable update.
Even when I went back to legacy branch main menu worked.
So whatever piece of code changed in current stable conflicted with bitdefender most likely.
Licence expired currently so I uninstalled bit defender.
I guess i found the solution.
i had the same issue, freezing at main menu, and i am using BitDefender aswell.
you can activate "Gaming Mode" in their icons context menu, and it solved all problems for me
cheers
