Description

It seems like every game in this series has had an issue not including a FOV slider. Even the Operation Flashpoint games NOT developed by you guys had the same issue (Dragon Rising was awesome, Red River was awful). Of course there are ways to fix it. But those are not user-friendly steps. So try to include that.
In a perfect world you would add the slider to the older games too. Arma 2, Arma 1, Arma cold war. (Arma 1 and Cold War need updated anyways, Achievos, Cards, controller support).

Your Arma 3 single-player campaign was way too hand-holding. I miss the openness of older games. Even when you crash your boat and have to survive, which is an AMAZING set up, by the way. That made you feel like you had to survive. But then you try to take a vehicle and it's locked. What?

-But there a little issues too. Like I am allowed to go out on patrol by myself. On an ATV. In the military you simply don't do that. You at least go with a battle-buddy (in the Army). On top of that the gear that I do find. It gets stripped away from me eventually. Making the whole thing pointless. If I find a wet-suit, and the next mission is a scuba-diving mission. Don't take away the wet-suit I found.

-Then on top of that, if I find bodies of fellow soldiers. You carry those back and give them burials. You don't leave them there to rot.

-Next, stop locking vehicles. If you don't want us to use them, don't put them there. Just have soldiers marching around or something.

-Don't clutter the story with intros and outros and menus. It takes you too far out of the experience. It should be simple and clean without removing you from the overall immersion.

-Your controller mapping for Arma 2 was solid. It was only missing a few things. But in Arma 3 it takes a step back. Many buttons simply do nothing. (This is with an xbox one controller wired to the PC) and too many functions are simply missing. Most players won't pay with a controller. But if you're going to include it then do it right. There are xpadder mappings out there that users have created that could give you an idea of what needs to be there and how to get it there.

-So consoles are not in your mind. Not for the Arma series. But me and my brother were introduced to Operation Flashpoint on Xbox. Operation Flashpoint Elite. That was amazing. The FOV was garbage. But it was so unique. It was everything it needed to be and had us interested the entire time. So I don't know where the idea that consoles will ruin the experience. Because the xbox didn't ruin Morrowind or Operation Flashpoint. It didn't ruin X Com or Full Spectrum Warrior. All it does is give people an ability to get into this kind of game.
My brother even messed around with the editor on xbox. He made some amazing things. And with bethesda showing mods can work on a console. This is the type of game that could benefit from that. If Arma 3 is too demanding start with Arma 1 or Arma Cold War, refreshed for consoles.

Finally, in the Army most gamers were console gamers. Xbox 360 and ps3 at the time. it hasn't changed much. And a game like this would be a military darling on consoles.  So quit being  so stubborn. Codemasters bungled OFP with Red River, so the only way to get that sweet military sim now, is to build a PC.
