Startup Crash - 0xc000007b / 0xC000012F - STATUS_INVALID_IMAGE_NOT_MZ
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

Arma 3 always worked well for me, but recently I made a format of my system and reinstalled it and it´s showing this problem. I have read the other threads in the forum but no one was giving a definite solution. I followed the steps suggested in this link(2nd image), reinstalling directx and Visual C++, but the error lingers. I´ve just reinstalled the game and nothing.

Basically, the game launcher opens, but when I click Play, the messages below shows up:

Hello,

could you please send us the DWI file from the Dependency Walker run?

Thank you

Dependecy Walker File

Thanks for your help in advance!

BISWizard changed Category from General to Game Startup.

Hello Progarrett,
Dependecy Walker shows that at least two system (DirectX) files are corrupted (rest of the files with the yellow icon don't present an issue). Those files are in this system folder (it's not exactly the path Depedency walker shows, but they are there - Windows magic - trust me on this):
C:\Windows\SysWOW64\D3DX10_43.DLL
C:\Windows\SysWOW64\D3DX11_43.DLL

Please remove these files and then re-install DirectX from D:\Games\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 3\_CommonRedist\DirectX\Jun2010\DXSETUP.exe or get those two files from the precisely same location from another computer. (Note: there are more files with the same name, but different version on every PC, so you have to delete/get files from the SysWOW64 folder).

Thanks BIXWizard. I appreciate your help a lot.

I followed your steps and it´s working perfectly now.
