Nvidia 3D Vision Bugs with Enfusion Renderer
Acknowledged, NormalPublic

Description

New enfusion renderer does not allow 3D vision to work properly. 3D never really worked properly pre-Enfusion renderer, so I figured I would create a new bug report since Enfusion was being worked on. Arma 3 new "graphics update" works flawlessly with 3D vision using "Forced compatibility mode"

Native 3D vision settings bugs:

  • HDR effect keeps getting added/amplified until sky is fully white/bright
  • HDR/bloom effect keeps getting amplified also
  • Shadows do not render at correct 3D depth

Forcing DirectX 11 3D vision "Compatibility mode" bugs:

  • 3D vision applies to the scene, however there is no Z/depth difference between near/far objects
  • Scene renders fine, but does not give any 3D depth, may need to work with Nvidia to resolve

Steps To Reproduce
  1. Enable 3D vision with NVIDIA cards
  2. Load up game and compare near/far objects while 3D vision is enabled
  3. Observe shadows appear to "pop out" of the screen while rest of scene is more at a distance
  4. Observe HDR effect amplifying until it is too bright
  5. Disable 3D vision and HDR/bloom will re-balance properly

Here is a how-to guide for forcing "DirectX 11 Compatibility mode": https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/791450/3d-vision/guide-how-to-enable-and-tweak-3d-compatibility-mode-in-any-dx11-game/

Hello digitalstimulus,
thank you for your report. NVIDIA 3D Vision is not supported by DayZ. It is planned to be supported eventually, however we cannot give a time estimate at the moment.
Regards,
Forkys
