Linux Port - Sound bug
New, NormalPublic

Description

When running Arma3, the sound will become corrupted. This most often happens whenever there are helicopter sounds, however it will randomly occur at other times as well. The sound corruption used to occur constantly, even on the loading screen, but that has since stopped. Restarting the game will now temporarily reset the sound quality. I have noticed the sound corruption will occur when switching between map view, or the menu page, where the sounds are disabled, and back to in-game where the sounds will suddenly become corrupted.

I have searched the internet for answers, but all of them are geared towards windows OS, and mostly relate to launcher parameter settings (such as the cpuCount=1). Since the linux port does not use the launcher, then these parameters/settings have no effect for me.

I made a couple of recordings of the sounds, but there is not way to attach files to this issue. If you can provide me an alternative method of uploading these files, then I will be happy to do so. Since other peoples attempts at explaining the sound were fruitless, I will not attempt to do so here.

Additional Information

This bug makes the game un-playable, since all sounds become garbled and corrupted. I have a friend who's been trying to get me to play Arma3 for a couple of years now, and despite owning the game, the number of bugs with the linux client port really make it un-enjoyable to have to deal with. He also runs a clan server, but I can never play with them due to the Battleye software not having a linux client (despite having a linux server, wtf is that?). They promised to make a client, but its been 6 months, and no further updates. I really feel like my purchase of this game has been a complete rip-off, and saying it runs on linux is a complete sham.
