I have been playing DayZ with an older video card that even though it doesn't support DX11 I have had it installed since last year. Today after downloading the required update the game will no longer open. Error message says I have a problem with my GPU, it's not supported, DirectX is broken, or some other problem.
Should I assume that the game now requires DX11 and will not play with any DX version less than that?

Monitor Model: ASUS VE278You are right, since the implementation of the new renderer dayz no longer supports old gpus that are not capable of using dx11. You can also find this information on the steam store page, under the minimum requirements section.
