If you make a white arm band and then dye it a color it goes back to white upon server restart. But the icon remains the color you dyed it. See picture:

I found this armband in a barrel already dyed so I'm not sure how long its been there or what not. I only know that it was red when I had it and picked it up and upon server restart it went back to white. Also another minor thing is that this armband does not stack with another arm band even though it's the same color (unlike the rain coat armbands).
