My computer is a Dell VOSTRO 3460
Intel Core i7-3612 QM @ 2.1 GHz / 12 Mb Ram
Intel HD4000 + nVidia GeForce GT 630M both with latest drivers installed
DisplayLink 7.4M0 (latest)
Take on Mars is set to use the nVidia GPU.
DirectX9 and 11 installed and DxDiag show no errors.
The exact same issue appears with the Carrier Command Gaeia Mission Demo (same error message) but this is not reproduced for all my DX11 games and for others DirectX 9 games (e.g. Civilization V).
Please note that I mostly play my games windowed and I do not know how to force Take on Mars to start windowed (maybe it could help).

Hi, that is an unpleasant error. Practically no info from it.
Could you please try running TKOM windowed? You can do this by opening the following file in a text editor:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\YOUR STEAM ID\244030\local\ccsettings.xml
Then change:
fullscreen="1"
To:
fullscreen="0"

Thanks for your reply.
I tested the game in windowed mode and it is now working. I think the problem might comes from DisplayLink (some other games I have will only work windowed, but it is not always reproductible).
Thank you anyway, I can now enjoy what seems to be a great game !
