Stuck on Low Resolution and Low FPS
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

This has now happened to me on two separate occasions.

I was driving in a V3S and experienced the normal slight hiccup that occasionally happens as the game loads in a new area. Normally, this lasts less than 2 seconds. This time, when the loading ended, I was stuck with strange low res, low polygon count models of everything but my V3S and my FPS was stuck around 7. In order to fix this, I have to log out and restart the client.

The first time this happened was in a completely different area of the map. I was driving on the coastal highway looking for dynamic boat spawns. {F32618} {F32619}

Additional Information

This time I managed to catch the occurrence on video. However, with a 5,000KB upload limit here, I can't upload. I'm not sure if Youtube will let me upload the video as it has copyrighted music playing in it. Let me know what I should do.

Just in case it helps, I am also including a text file containing information on my system from dxdiag as this could very well be hardware or driver related.

I just had it happen again. This time I switched Antialiasing from Very High to High, triggering the world to redraw, and then, before it finished loading, switched it back to Very High. It fixed it without me having to restart my client. Every single time this has happened, I was driving in a V3S Frame, not the cargo version.

EDIT: Scratch that last sentence. I had it happen the other night while I was on foot in Berezino.

Hi ColdAtrophy,

Does this happen regardless of your graphics settings?

JStewart

Do you have a 32 bit system by any chance? Sounds like a RAM issue. Doesn't happen on 64 bit systems, from what I've discovered.

then edit the video without any sound, the devs dont need sound for this kind of bug.

JStewart - I don't know. I don't generally change my graphics settings much. What would you like me to try?

zverus - I have a 64 bit CPU. Intel i5-4690k.

@ColdAtrophy you can also Temporarily Fix this by Changing your HDR Quality back and forth i have this happen to me about every 5 minutes at least 5-6 times in an hour

I asked about your operating system architecture. Is it 32 bit or 64 bit? A 64 bit CPU is backwards compatible, so you may as well have a 32 bit OS for all I know.

@zverus - I have Windows 10 Pro 64-bit.

And here is the Youtube link for the recording of this bug. I took the audio out as was suggested.

Thanks for sending in the video. Could you try attaching a copy of your dayz.cfg file in here please?

The file should be located here: "C:\users\<username>\documents\dayz"

Done. When I tried to upload DayZ.cfg, the site tells me that I am not allowed to upload that filetype. I made a copy, changed it to .txt, and there you go.

yes this is the issue i was Speaking about i have this exact same problem and it happens litterally like every 5 or 10 minutes and it absolutely sucks when it happens mid Combat.

Just to see if it makes a difference; could you try copy/pasting the following into your DayZ.cfg file?

language="English";
adapter=-1;

I will give it a try and report back, but I'd like you to know that your suggested cfg made me throw up in my mouth a little bit. I mean that in the nicest way possible. :)

Unfortunately, I haven't yet had much of a chance to test out the cfg you gave. I will try to get some time in on Stable this week and get back to guys. I apologize for making you wait.

Been having this issue for ages,
Stable , and Experimental
Modified all video settings from highest to lowest possible in different combinations
While making further manual modifications to the cfg files myself
**Such as but not limited to :
sceneComplexity=15000;
shadowZDistance=0;
viewDistance=800;
preferredObjectViewDistance=800;

Has reduced the frequency of it . It still happens , regardless of in game situations .
More so now on Experimental than on Stable

On average , Using the Flush command will resolve it 98% of the time . But occasionally it requires a full restart of the client .

Windows Vista Business 32bit
AMD Radeon HD 5450
Intel Duo Core CPU @2.33Ghz
4GB Ram

tried your cfg file suggestion.
Made game unplayable , was getting 1-3 FPS in character screen

I am no longer having this issue whatsoever in any of the Experimental or Stable 0.59 builds.

i am . on both
I think it is related to the dual core issue

Alright, I'll close out this ticket then. Thanks for getting back on the issue.

Zurvivalist - I'll have to ask you to create a new ticket so that it'll be a bit easier to handle support for your issue (you won't be able to attach files in this or other tickets for example).

Thanks,
JStewart
