When you reload your weapon and dont have any free space for the other magazine then you will lose it (it disappears). Before it would just swap with another mag no matter what your inventory space looked like.
This is for ANY magazine, handgun, AK, etc.

Reload a weapon with a character inventory. The reloaded magazine will disappear and cannot be recovered.

I can confirm. It's a shame we have to keep open slots in an appropriate shape in our inventory to avoid this bug.

thats not a bug, think logic, fist you have to take the empty mag from your weapon, where to put it? Remember you have your gun in your hands! now think about!
