Server Admin Log files not accurately saving deaths
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

For some reason admin log saves deaths randomly. I chacked and doublechecked.
Sometimes player killing other is saved. Mostly not.

May be logs must contin any death? Death from bloodloss etc. Just a fact of player death. And keep offender if applicable.

Example

13:50:43 | Player "XXXXX"(id=XXXXX) died. Killed by player "XXXX"(id=XXXX)

13:50:43 | Player "XXX"(id=XXXXXX) died.

(e.g. of bloodloss or fell from height etc. )

Additional Information

I know the team has more detailed logs planned some time in development. So I understand this cannot be a priority. But if there is a fix time for severside backend stuff, I hope you consider this too.

Thank you for DayZ!

It's what I said also here:

The Dev-Team needs to get access to the server to check this.
If it's a whitelist-server, let them access the server. (they will give you the GUIDs)

Paper26, Access Denied to the ticket. But I understand what you mean. Thank you.

My ticket text is:

Description: Since the 0.55 update, our fragnet server isn't logging kills correctly. 10 kills and only 1 or 2 gets logged!

Steps To Reproduce: Go on a (Fragnet)-Server, kill 100 players and have a look into your logs.

Thank you. And yes, it's fragnet.

Paper26, have your problem been solved?

Hi mikhail,

at current time this occurs due to server performance (in the cases where one player kills another player). Deaths that are not due to being killed by other players are not logged. However, this may change in the future - the team will most likely announce such changes in their status reports.

JStewart
