I was digging for worms with a farming hoe when I fell unconscious from to starvation. I became unconscious during the 'dig for worms' animation/action. I chose to respawn while unconscious, and my new character had the options hide body, view contents, make a garden plot and dig for worms accessible via the scroll wheel. Choosing view contents made my former inventory flash momentarily on the screen, but disappear. Choosing 'make a garden plot' or 'dig for worms' resulted in a garden plot and a pile of worms at the location of the NEW character that I had respawned as. The worms were in the inventory, and the garden plot was on the ground.

*fall unconscious while performing 'dig for worms' animation
*respawn
*scroll to 'make a garden plot' or 'dig for worms' and hit F
*garden plot should appear, or worms should appear, on the ground or in your inventory
I suspect it might be possible to perform other actions posthumously as well, depending on what action you were performing or what item you were using while you died. I haven't tried yet.
Event Timeline
I'm going to add something related that is a very big game breaker :
The action to hide body works as well, so when you get killed and don't want your stuff in other hands, you can remotely hide it. The killer will only have the 30 sec respawn time to strip you if he want something from your corpse.
This is clearly an exploit and should be fixed ASAP.
The inverse seems also true (but I have not tested it myself) : if you put a burlap on the head of a dead body after he respawn, his screen will go black.
I wonder if I can poison someone by force drinking tincture his old corpse.
