When you kill another player the dead body despawns way too fast. The reason why this has a considerable detrimental effect on tactical play is that if you are viewing the dead body from a distance (e.g with a scoped weapon) and want to remain on over-watch for a reasonable length of time in order to try and see if they have any buddies near by that come to get the gear, or if anyone comes to investigate the shots, then the body has almost inevitably despawned before you can go and check it out.
Dead bodies should be replaced with dead/decaying/decayed body models that act no different than other in game storage containers. These can fully despawn after several hours, or whatever is deemed to be a good balance between game performance and quality.
If I find a dead body now, it means that I know that someone was here within the last 10 minutes, and most likely more recently than that.
I understand that returning to loot your own body might be a concern, but I believe that is less of an issue than almost completely ruling out the safe play style and forcing people to either leave a body completely, or loot it very soon after death.
