0.54 introduced random game crashes (the memory related one).
Either driving or travelling as an passenger in a vehicle, when the crash occurs, the character is treated like they'd jump out of a vehicle while moving, ie once logging back, you are a fresh spawn.
Had this happen every single time when someone in our group had a crash while driving/as an passenger.
You even hear the car door sound in the vehicle, when someone "drops out"
