There's no other explanation but what the title says. Other than that, maybe more suicide options that add to the immersion of the game.

Since cannibalism is in game [ which is in itself very gruesome ] I don't think this is too much.

Also, another extra thing would be - Suffocate by burlap, or plastic bag or pillow. Either suicide by for example putting a bag over your head and keeping it tight with some wire or a rope or another person by this fashion after restraining them.
