Lower FPS then normal
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

Ever since I updated to the latest version of DayZ, my FPS is horrible, on low settings I get as low as 8FPS, thats with SLI Disabled, SLI on I get as low as 10FPS, not much of a change. Normally I was in the 20FPS range in the big city est side of the map on that tower, which is doable, but now I get no where near that.

I also changed setting from high to vary low and the FPS doesn't change. Only thing that helps is Object details which brings my FPS back up to 20, but then I can't see other players 2 feet in front of me. I use to be able to change Object Details to vary low and see right around 40FPS in the same spot. Changing it to Normal I still get 8FPS with SLi Disabled and 12FPS with SLI enabled.

I have re installed the game on my SSD and the FPS hit is still there, only thing the SSD did was fix some of the stuttering issues which wasn't a huge problem before.

This also affect my other system, but drastically worse. FPS at times set right around 3FPS when before it was better, though still worse then my AMD system.

RAM: 8GB Corsair Vengeance 1600mhz
MOBO: Dell OEM Motherboard
GPU: ATI HD5850 (Modded bios for dual monitor flicker fix)
PSU: Antec TruPower 430watt

I know the 5850 is a 6 year old card, but it use to get more FPS then that, even on low settings.

I don't understand why you all put more things into the game when the game runs like a pile of crap, it would be 10 years down the road before anyone could break 60FPS in a city.

Disable launch options. Also, this is known issusse.

I never had launch options as they didn't seem to do anything, But I was fiddling around with them earlier before I had take my frustration out with my bug tracker report lol.

It didn't seem to have a noticeable effect on my FPS, at most I think I lost 1 - 2FPS though that could be from the amount of loot or zombies walking around.

Only fix for now that I have to do to even play is turn down my view distance and Object distance to 500, Scene complexity to 500000 which helps but makes people hard to see beyond 500 meters. That helps but I still see 15 or so FPS in that city, wild I'm lucky to see 40+ FPS where before I was hovering around 100FPS in the wild with every thing on vary high.

Hello Viking2121,

For now I would refer to performance guides like this one for example (in case there are some suggestions that you haven't run into before) and I would of course recommend that you make sure that all hardware drivers are up to date: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=216291078

Other than that, then there's not so much we can do for now since DayZ has not yet been fully optimized I'm afraid. These performance issues will of course be addressed as development progresses.

Regards,
JStewart
