Got the same isssue, but can not get in even through the .exe file. Once i have reinstaleed all of Microsoft Visual C++ , and could get in, but after next windows start up the same problem.

Sorry to hear about your trouble. To begin with I would recommend that you make sure that your graphics card drivers are updated.

After that, I would recommend that you try out the following suggestions:

1. Launch Steam.
2. Right click on DayZ.
3. Go to Properties.
4. Go to Set Launch Options.
5. Type in "-window" (without quotation marks).
6. Click ok and launch dayz.

If that doesn't solve your problem, you can try out the following:

1. Launch Steam.
2. Right click on DayZ.
3. Go to Properties.
4. Go to local files.
5. Click on browse local files.
6. Go into the folders _CommonRedist > DirectX > Jun2010.
7. Run DXSETUP.exe
8. Launch dayz after the setup is complete.

Another possible culprit could be an anti-virus/scanner or firewall that prevents DayZ from launching.

I'm not sure exactly how, but i've resolved my problem. Here the actions were done:

1)I haven't got an antivirus, then i instaled it & fully scaned my PC.

There was two threats & they were deleted.

2. I found a programe installed on my PC called " Extremeblocker". Which was imposiblle to uninstall in classic way. And antivirus have not found this as threat. I could only delete this programme when loaded windiws in safemode ( not sure about correct name).
3. Also, while was in a sfamode ive deleted "appcache" folder.

After next windows start it was able to lauche Dayz

Sad, but problem is back. I have added BEServices, Dayz_BE & Dayz to the brandmauer exclusions. Restart.Уverything works, another restart - we are at the same place...(( something is blocking onу of those & and ideas are ended.

Another sucsess after next moves: Exit steam , delete appcache,

6. Go into the folders _CommonRedist > DirectX > Jun2010.
7. Run DXSETUP.exe

THEN restart windows !!

Then launch the game.

Still wont launch. I tried both of what you said, JStewart. After I launched after I ran the DXsetup.exe a black window came up G:\Steam\Steamapps\Common\DayZ\DayZBE.exe "Failed to Launch Game."

I've tried running both Steam and DayZ.exe in admin mode but it still isnt working :(

I've also tried disabling both of my Anti Virus software and then running it. Same problem.

Update: When I launch the game in admin mode it loads, I pick a server. The game then creates a duplicate and then crashes. I receive this error message

"The Instruction at 0x00d2321e referenced memory at 0x00000000. The memory could not be read.

Click OK to terminate the program."

In case DayZ crashes, please attach a dxdiag report and your crash dump files.
Getting your dxdiag file:

1. Open the Start menu
2. Write "dxdiag"
3. Press enter
4. A window will open
5. Click "Save all information"
6. You will get a text file - please attach it here.

Getting your crash dumps:

1. Go to this file location: "C:\Users\<Name>\AppData\Local"
2. There you should see a DayZ folder.
3. Create a .zip or .rar file of that folder.

Please take the .zip/.rar and the DxDiag file and upload them here. The upload limit is 5000KB, which should be enough. In case it is not, please upload the files to a file sharing website and post a link to the files in the comments.

Update: Hey. I went into the DayZ folder and set both DayZ, DayZBE.exe and Steam.exe to run in administrator mode. I got in, and got into a server. So it seems as though it's fixed. If it breaks again I'll inform you. Thank you for your help. You've been great.

Everyone I try to launch DayZ, I get the message. " Windows cannot access the specified device, file or path. You may have incorrect permissions" when I first got the game it was fine, but the next day that's when it started coming up with this alert. When I run DayZ, steam etc. As admin it's fine until I go to find a server, then it closes and comes up with the message again. I've pretty much tried everything that was suggested above but nothing :/
