After updating the latest patch and launching DayZ .53 from steam, blank screen. On checking background, I found an application error window reading "The instruction at 0x007981b8 referenced memory at 0x00000000. The memory could not be read. etc". This is the first time this has occurred. Reproducable every attempt at launching.
Will check integrity of files and reinstall if necessary.

I check 2 times, reinstall DayZ Standalone 3 times, manualy delete BattleEye 2 files and install again, disable AVG anti-virus...
Nothing help...

Can't launch game either, ever since update last night. I get a windows message saying, "Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file..."

This occurred whether I tried to launch from the desktop icon or from Steam Library.

Hi SoldierSniper,

Sorry to hear about your trouble. Do you receive any error messages when you try to launch DayZ? Also, could you try performing the following steps please:

We need you to upload a few files from your computer.

Attach a DxDiag file to this ticket:

  1. Open the Start menu
  2. Write "dxdiag"
  3. Press enter
  4. A window will open
  5. Click "Save all information"
  6. You will get a text file - that's what we need

Attach possible crash dumps:
Go to this file location: "C:\Users\<Name>\AppData\Local"

There you should see a DayZ folder.

Create a .zip or .rar file of that folder.

Then take the .zip/.rar and the DxDiag file and upload them to this ticket. The upload limit is 5000KB, which should be enough. In case it is not, please upload the files to a file sharing website and post a link to the files in the comments.

Thanks,
JStewart

Hi JStewart.
When launch DayZ i not get error messages. In Task Manager see DayZ_Bes... and BEServise.
I have not Global ban. I do not use cheats and other programs.
All was good before update 0.53.

Sory for bad english.

Hi JStewart.
I send all the requested file in the zip "desktop" file , I still can not start the game .

You may have to delete the DayZ folder from your Documents, I had a similar issue with an older update.

it does not work

Viking2121, me too... it does not work

Sorry that didn't help. If you have and Antivirus or any spyware protection, disable it and see if DayZ will launch. I also had issues with UAC and Battleye, if you have UAC on, disable that as well, (remember to re enable your security when your not gaming).

Also you can go to where steam installs the game and right click on DayZ.exe and run as admin. You can also try different compatibility modes.

Just a few things you can try. Best of luck.

Thanks for attaching the files. It doesn't seem like DayZ is crashing on launch, so please try out the following steps.

  1. Download and install Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/search/result.aspx?q=vcredist%202010&form=DLC
  1. Restart your pc.
  1. Download and install Visual C++ Redistributable Packages for Visual Studio 2013: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/search/result.aspx?q=vcredist%202013&form=DLC
  1. Restart your pc.
  1. Launch DayZ (run both Steam and DayZ as administrator if needed).

Problem solved by reinstalling windows

Ok, thanks.
Reinstall windows fix all :)

Hope it is ok for me to tag onto the end of this thread. I can't reinstall windows (and I don't think it helps with bug fixing).

Since the last tiny update to Stable I have not been able to play Dayz.
The game does not start at all. Initially there was no error message, my friends window would show me ingame playing Dayz, however Dayz.exe would not start. The only app I recognised in task manager was Battleye Launcher.

The things I have tried.
Re-Validating files
Deleted Battleye files and redownload via steam
Replace Battleye dll file manually
Reinstall all vcredist files manually
Whitelist all Dayz/battleye files in firewall
Ensure all files "Run as Admin"
Run BEService manually (see error2 screenshot)

Still I get the "Failed to Start game" error message.

My issue was solved by whitelisting BE Service in firewall.

I have same problem.

I'll close the ticket then since SoldierSniper seemed to fix the issue by reinstalling windows.

For all others who still have problems launching DayZ, please submit seperate tickets for your issues since it'll be a nightmare taking care of multiple issues via the notes section.

Thanks,
JStewart
