Game Asks Whether I Would Like It To Make Changes To My Computer I Click Yes, Same Message Occurs Over And Over Again.
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

When trying to play Dayz standalone I click play on Steam and a message appears asking 'would you like this program to make changes to your computer?' I click yes, wait a few seconds and the same message occurs again - this happens several times before the Steam message comes up stating, 'preparing to launch Dayz' and then nothing happens after that. When clicking "no" to the message displayed asking 'would you like this program to make changes to your computer?' it comes up again a few times before "Battle Eye" displays the message "failed to launch Dayz". Please help. I have tried the following (some taken from Dayz forum):
-Verifying cache integrity.
-Deleting and re-installing Dayz Standalone.
-Running the DXSetup in /CommonRedist file.
-Putting in the launch command -windows.
Thank you.

Do you have any Firewalls (e.g. Windows Firewall) that could be blocking DayZ or Steam-App(s) from Harddisk- or Internet-Access? Otherwise i would toggle the "Run as Administrator" Option in the Game's Desktop-Icon if started from there or maybe you run your Steam-App with this Option, then toggling the State of the Checkbox in the Icon's Compatibility-Options might help?! Just a Guess.

Hello paulcubs,

Sorry to hear about your trouble. Could you attach a screenshot of the pop up messages please?

Thanks,
JStewart
