Persistent items seem to only stay around for a few days before they are deleted. We have several groups who have contacted me on our TS to let us know all their items are gone from their camps. We are unable to determine how long items are staying or if they're deleting due to a server crash.
Loot up persistence items on a Persistent enabled server.
Store those items either in a tent or drop items at a safe location of your choosing (safe so that other players don't steal them).
Take account for what time/day you've dropped these items.
Log out
Log back in the next day and see if items are still there.
We have seen that items stay maybe 2 or 3 days? We are trying to gather more information on our server regarding this that I can submit as feedback. We're trying multiple locations across the map where we're storing a tent with itmes inside it.

On persistence enabled servers, items "stored" by placing them on the ground will of course eventually despawn whereas items stored inside a tent on a persistence enabled server will stay (also during server crashes, unless the crash is specifically due to a tent). I'll close the ticket since it hasn't been possible to reproduce this bug internally. The issue seems most likely due to players finding your tents.
