Some things based on logic and good game design I'd like to see happen.

Description

1: I have a bad PC, and I can't do much of anything for 5-10 seconds after logging in to let my graphics all load, and my framerate increase to a usable level. When I logged into a new server, I got the messages "I sense there are bandits nearby", or that message- and then, right after, "I feel like I'm being watched". And as I was just starting up, when everything was transparent and loading, I heard myself being hit repeatedly, and I panic-logged. (Yeah, it was my only option, sorry.) Character was dead.
Just my opinion, maybe it should tell you that there are bandits nearby as you are waiting the 30 or 60 seconds to go into the world, and give you the option of backing out and not spawning right into a horde of kill-hungry bandits.
It sounds like I'm mad. I'm not. I'm just saying, it would be nice.

2: Make Crossbow bolts retrievable- perhaps hard to find and limited in the number of possible uses, but retrievable. This game is supposed to be a somewhat accurate representation of real life, and as such, bolts should be retrievable. It doesn't have to be- and shouldn't- be like Call Of Duty, where your thrown equipment is highlighted as bright gold so you can easily find it again- just make it so when you hit tab over a body that you're looting, or if you shoot a zed with one, you can see the bolt there, and grab it, and reload it into the crossbow. (See, this makes it hard to find your bolts again, if you lose track of where they went... just like real life.)
The individual bolts could take wear from being shot- in varying levels depending on what they hit, which could be problematic for you to do as a feature- I understand. I mean things such as: if they hit road, the bolt would go from Pristine to Badly Damaged, if the shot lands in the dirt, they might take very little damage or wear, if they puncture sheet metal, it goes from Pristine to Worn, from worn to Damaged, etc. But seeing as how when you hit metal or stone with an axe, it creates different sounds that manage to scare the living s*** out of me over the turtle beaches when I miss a strike, it would appear you already have the different materials aspect of the game coded in and accounted for.

3: Increase spawnings for 9mm bullet boxes, as it appears to be skewed. I looted all the buildings in Electro several times, no 9mm boxes. I had a CR25 and a Mag for it, with only those 15 shots in the mag. The only spare bullets I managed to find were those I emptied out of a P1 mag spawned in the police station.
It would appear that these bullets are extremely rare, as opposed to the wiki claiming they are 'Uncommon'. (In comparison, I found at least 9 (Item hoarder here) boxes of Mosin rounds, as well as over 25 loose, and 3-4 boxes of .357s, and 15 loose bullets. Very severely skewed here. All in the Electro area.)

4: Increase the number of military tops and hunting tops spawned.
These are the items that go bad the quickest, and they're the ones that are never present in Fire Stations, when there are pants there, more often than not. I found two military shirts total, compared to 5 sets of military/hunting pants.

Edit: I went through Electro on a few different servers, on multiple days, multiple times. I went through the entire town and looted it all between 3 and 6 times, and that's where this data is from.

That is all. Thank you for listening. Hopefully, this game will be perfect and bug-free someday.

Hello mobius1,

Thanks for sending in all your feedback on those features. I'll answer your concerns in the same order as you mentioned them :)

  1. During development of the game, it will not be fully optimized which will most likely be the reason for you having performance issues during the login process.
  1. The crossbow bolts should be retrievable. In case they're not, please feel free to submit a bug report here on the feedback tracker.

3 + 4. The devs are continuously pulling data from the experimental servers so that they'll be able to assess the state of the loot economy. That way they'll be able to tweak the spawn ratios for each lootable item in case it looks badly askew.

Regards,
JStewart
