Your Character was unable [...] ALWAYS
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

Im reporting for a person, who is not that good in English.

His problem: Everytime he tries to connect to a server this message appears (we all know it I think):

"Your character was unable to be loaded and has been reset. A system administrator has been notified."

So he can't play anymore. On every server this message appears. He tried really everything, experimental patch, repatch, reinstall, delete all files etc.

I hope you can help him via Steam or something like that, I can give you his SteamID

Hello -GER- Tombo,

Sorry to hear about your friend's trouble. If you send me a note with the Steam Profile ID url, I'll have a look at it and see if the problem is connected to his account in the character database. Example: "http://steamcommunity.com/id/xxxxxxxxxx/"

Thanks,
JStewart

Is this the right one?
Copied from the logfiles

Unfortunately, I get the following error message when clicking the link you sent in:

"Sorry!
An error was encountered while processing your request:
The specified profile could not be found."

Regards,
JStewart

Huh, I can't even open my own profile with my ID...
Where do I normally find the ID? I just know it from the logfiles..

So, I searched for another issue where the ID was necessary, I hope this ID is the correct one with which you can do something:

STEAM_0:1:164429709

That's odd. Steam does not return any results either when searching for the ID "STEAM_0:1:164429709".

If you read the support post on the DayZ forums, you should be able to find the link for your Steam profile: http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/190827-dayz-support/

Thanks, that was exactly what we needed :) The cause of your friend not being able to access game servers with his character is due to the sheer amount of items that he'd been carrying around. Logging on with an inventory of 3500+ items can result in servers bogging down. If the following was the case, please keep in mind that exploiting game mechanics (even when broken) in order to dupe items is a ban-able offense and that duping to such an extent can affect other players, since servers that you try to log on to can crash.

Your friend's account should be good to go again, but we had to fix it by flushing out the inventory. In case you encounter any further problems, please feel free to open up a new issue in the Feedback Tracker.

Regards,
JStewart
