when i drag for example a new hat from the ground to the one i am wearing the latter disappears. but not everytime.. maybe related to clothes

I dragged ammo from my backpack to an empty slot in my pants and it disappeared. The same thing happened with a map!!! I checked the ground around me for several minutes but could not find item. (23 January 2015) I am using the latest version of the game.
