Instant death randomly in 2nd story barn
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

I was looting a two story red barn with the hay bales in it. While on the 3rd story walking down the stairs to the 2nd story I instantly died with no reason. There was no other broken limb/bleeding messages, no sound, just black screen. My character did not fall and was in the center of the stairs jogging downward.

The specific barn is isolated by itself NW of Komarovo and SE of the military base, the barn also has a well next to it. I was on the western side of the barn, 3rd going down to 2nd story when it happened.

The weather was raining (thunder and lightning nearby), I had a fire going on the first floor, I was in outstanding healthy, energized and hydrated.

Try jogging up and down stairs in this specific barn.

Additional Information

Suggest implementing (at least for development) a message to explain what killed you. This would help with bug reports.

If you keep allowing players to die for no reason after spending weeks working on their characters, then you are going to lose testers at an alarming rate. For me, this was the one bug that really pushes me towards leaving. I'll give it a day or two and start up again.

Can lightning kill you? Can having a fire in a barn kill you? There may be another way I died here that is unbeknownst to me.
