Joined a server recently, coastal cities have really slow loot respawn/no loot respawn.
With the new hunger system it's really hard to find food when you spawn at coastal area.

I agree. For the past week or so it seems that the loot is spawning either really slowly or not at all.
The only guns I've seen have been magnums and Makarovs. No rifles at all, and hardly any SKS/AK ammo. Not one assault vest either. I've been all over the high weapon value spawns and high equipment spawns and there is nothing. It's become even more of a jogging simulator than it was before. :)
(Not that I mind, since it's in being developed as we speak,)
I'm just wondering if people are hoarding the loot? Are the spawn timers broken? What's going on?

did you check after server is restarted?
I usually find plenty of stuff around when the server is restarted (because I think that's when the spawn happens). The longer you wait more and more ppl grab stuff so there's nothing left.
But SKS ammo is rare in general. I usually only use it as in my hand gun until I ran out of bullets then I toss it and use my mosin instead.
