I don't know if it's been discussed or how it's implemented, I was just thinking about this the other day. For loot items/items on the ground not in a tent, could the following system be useful?
Ruined items: removed from the server immediately at restart.
Badly Damaged items: in 1 server reset, they become ruined and are removed from the server.
Damaged Items: In 1 server reset, they become badly damaged.
Worn Items: In 2 server resets, they go form Worn to Damaged.
Pristine Items: In 2 server resets, they go from Pristine to Worn.
If servers reset every 4 hours, then items not in tents would be fully wiped from servers, allowing new loot to spawn.
Allowing players to use an axe/knife/gun to 'ruin' items on the ground such as empty magazines, tshirts, etc, would also help speed up the process.
In addition, could things that people spawn with (flashlights, athletic shoes, jeans) not be spawned in as loot?
Should wellies and rain jackets fit OVER people's existing clothing? Let people 'roll up' the rain jacket and have it take up 1 slot, and it doesn't have any pockets. Maybe a poncho that would fit over clothing and take up 1 slot in the inventory.
Will Mosins ever be able to have bipods again, or is this being saved for a later date?
