DayZ Standalone Server Desync and Crashing due to Glitch Abuse / Duping
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

I own a DayZ Standalone server (obtained via GameServers) and can with full confidence say that the server performance greatly reduces once players start duping (or log in with multiple duped items). The item duping ranges from players copying each other in full, or players making various duplicates of a certain item for themselves (mainly ammo and weapons). Another 2 major problems that causes the poor server performance is the infinite ammo glitch, as well as the food duping (already a known issue).

Additional Information

This has been tested previously by various other local players and server owners, and they could confirm my suspicions regarding the server performance. It even got so bad that the servers literally crashed and had to be restarted completely. We either need to have these bugs fixed asap or be given the ability to perma ban players again found guilty of exploiting these glitches. I know that we were told banning will be enabled again once private hives become available, but the ETA on this is still unclear and we need a solution NOW.

This is a severe problem and I'm 100% sure all server owners would appreciate this being top priority.

Hello SYOS_Heisenberg,

Thank you for sending us your feedback regarding this issue. Unfortunately, this problem is a known issue that has previously been reported. The devs are aware of the problem regarding duping/cheating (and the resulting effects on server performance) and are working on fixing it.
