I'm pretty sure similar stuff was reported already, but any way.
Basically, a single zombie (would it be jumping one or running one) can insta-ruin your clothes that used to be pristine but then become ruined along with all the contents inside! A zombie also broke my arm like this while I was running away from him.

@Atanar I think you've written something irrelevant about melee.
Also I re-checked and didn't find anything relating to that matter, just the fact about clothes being ruined.

Decided to vote this up, I had just found pristine military pants, had a protector case (worn) and a magazine(pristine) in them; then I got hit by a zombie, it didn't do much damage to my character, but ruined everything waist down. I don't think this is intentional, it appears to be a bug.
Edit: after I logged off and on, I saw that my pants were badly damaged and only the protector case had switched to ruined. Still a lot of damage for one hit from a zombie.
